Over a period of 4 weeks, students will begin to learn the art and craft of glassblowing. Participants in this course will learn to gather, blow, and shape the molten glass on their own.

Week 1 : Explore the Tools of the Trade
Intro to all glass tools and equipment
Learn to gather glass from the furnace
rolling techniques for gathers, punties and color
Week 2 : Shaping and Forming
Intro to the mechanics of glass
Learn the basics of blocking glass
Explore various methods for shaping glass
Week 3 : Bubble Blowing
Learn traditional bubble blowing methods and theory
Blow bubbles to be puntied
Week 4 : Drinking Vessels
Use the skills learned in previous classes to form drinking glasses
